Grace fell down, fell in torrents all around
But she didn’t see it, she was too busy staring at her feet.
You see, her rubber boots, they weren’t yellow, they were gray
Where was joy in the gray?
Inside she went, searching for those yellow rubbers
She looked and looked, but they were no where to be found
And the rain kept falling in torrents outside her window pane
Her sister ran out with gray boots on
Her sister danced in the rain
With a reckless abandon she danced
And she just stood and watched through that window pane
Deeper inside she went searching for those yellow rubbers
She looked and looked, but they were no where to be found
And the rain kept falling in torrents outside her window pane
Dancing and dancing, whirling and twirling,
Around and around, the sister’s gray boots were gray no more
They were washed yellow
And she danced all the more
Still searching for those yellow rubbers
She looked and looked, but they were no where to be found
And the rain kept falling in torrents outside her window pane

Her sister ran inside calling, “Come dance in the rain”
She was shocked when she saw those once gray rubbers
Now yellow and gleaming with drops
Gray no more
Deep inside she had searched for those yellow rubbers
She looked and looked, but they were no where to be found
And the rain kept falling in torrents outside her window pane
Smiling, her sister took her by the hand
They ran outside and danced in the rain
Once gray boots turned yellow
And her heart sang
Rain washed away mud, and yellow gleamed through
She had stopped frantically searching for blessings
She simply danced in the rain
And His grace washed her clean
The rain pointed to a merciful Giver
He wanted to cleanse and bless her
So she danced in the cold and she got wet
She stopped focusing on her feet
Stop focusing on that which you do not have.
Dance in the rain, dance in His grace
For He is enough, and His grace is enough
You will find you have what you were always looking for
You just had to stop staring at your feet
And in the end, you may just find
He chose to bless you with yellow rubbers
Deep inside she had joy with or without yellow rubbers
She stopped looking in all the wrong places
And the grace kept falling in torrents…
She found her yellow rubbers
